Associate Professor, Playwriting
Ingrid De Sanctis works as Associate Professor of Playwriting at James Madison University where she also teaches acting and directing. Since receiving her MFA in Acting from UNCG, she has taught full time at Eastern Mennonite University, Clemson University and Bloomsburg University. She has received writing grants, allowing her to create edgy, challenging plays on such topics as refugees in the Balkans (Torba), survivors of violent crime (A Body in Motion), and life following 911 created with inner city youth (WhaChaGonnaDu?). Most recently she produced, directed and wrote, Sarah and the Dinosaur, based on a young woman’s journey living with cancer.
